I met a boy once… sorta. I mean I met him, in a kinda-sorta way, But he never met me. His name was Kori, And he loved across the pond, And I met him when he shared his story. Y’see, Kori was born with a broken heart That could not be fixed, no matter what Anybody did. But while his heart didn’t work the way it should, This boy was blessed with a golden soul That shined brighter than the sun. Kori shared his story, And touched the hearts and souls Of hundreds of thousands of people From around the world who were willing to listen. And who were willing to share His short life with him. We watched on the internet sea As he sailed through life, His boat, Kraken the Box, keeping him afloat. We shared his triumphs, And tribulations, And everything in between. And we shared his excitement when he was dubbed, Captain Kori, Pirate! By his (and our) favorite Pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow! How glorious that day was for that young boy! How touching it was to hear those kind words Offered by that other golden soul. But Kori’s golden soul was too good for this world, And he was finally called home So he sailed away into the golden sun, With fair winds, and following seas, Never to be forgotten And always to be loved.
It doesn’t matter if you knew Kori or not, all you need to know is that he was special, and still means the world to those who were privileged enough to know him, even if only as an image on a screen. If you can, please donate. If you can’t, please share this message. Thank you-
